Depth 5% to 6; head 4 to 4; snout 3 to 5 in head from snout tip; eye 2% to 378; interorbital 2 to 3. Gill rakers 5 to 7+ 15 to 18. Scales 43 to 51 in lateral line, 30 to 33 predorsal. Dorsal rays 10 to 12; anal 12 or 13; pectoral with first z rays undivided, first 1⁄2 second, second third, fin reaching caudal base; ventral longer than head. Drab giay above, be- low silvery white. Dorsal dusky. Caudal and anal whitish. Paired fins blackish, pectoral edges whitish. Ventral edges pale. Length 275 mm.
